Privacy

Nik's Auto Repair Ltd. ("we") runs this website and the shop at Unit 121, 1772 Broadway St, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 2M8. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- What you send us: your name, phone number, email, vehicle, VIN and your message, when you fill in a form on this site or call or text the shop.
- The history of work on your vehicle: estimates, inspections, invoices and payments, so the next visit starts with your record.
- Advertising measurement: if you reach this site from one of our Google ads, Google sets a cookie so we can count that a call or a request came from that ad. The phone number you see may be a Google forwarding number that connects straight to the shop.
Why we use it
- To reply to you, give you a price, book your visit and repair your vehicle.
- To contact you about your request, estimate, invoice or payment.
- To send reminders or offers only if you agreed to receive them.
- To see which of our ads bring in calls and requests.
- To keep records the law requires, such as invoices.
Calls, texts and emails
We call, text or email you about a request you sent us or work on your vehicle. We send marketing messages only if you agreed, and you can stop them at any time: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or tell us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use service providers to host this website and its database, to deliver the email that tells the shop about your request, and to measure our advertising (Google). They may use your information only to provide that service to us. Google may also use its cookie to show you our ads later, under Google's own privacy policy; you can turn off personalised ads in your Google account.
Where it is kept and for how long
Requests sent through this website are stored in a database in Canada. Some of our service providers, including our email and advertising providers, process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where that country's laws apply to it. We keep your records while you are a customer and for as long as tax and business law require, then delete them.
How we protect it
Access is limited to the people who need it to serve you, and information is encrypted as it travels between you and this site.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete what the law does not require us to keep. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with the date it takes effect.
